Stay safe at our event:

  • If you have general pātai or queries, visit the Information Desk in the Hub, or chat to one of our event crew. You can spot them in Whitireia and WelTec uniform or tees, or wearing an event lanyard.
  • In the event of a fire alarm, please calmly evacuate the building. Look out for whānau and tamariki who may need help evacuating. Event volunteers can show you to the assembly points, which are also visible on the event map. Do not block up the carpark, so that emergency services vehicles can access the buildings.
  • If there is an earthquake; drop, cover, hold. If the earthquake is long and strong, get gone! Te Awakairangi campus is in a tsunami zone, please do not wait to be evacuated following a strong earthquake. The quickest way will be to head inland on foot, event volunteers have maps showing the tsunami safe zones.
  • If you have a medical emergency, or an injury, please let our event volunteers know. We have first aiders who can assist, first aid kits and AEDs on site. We will also direct emergency services to the right place.

Our campus is a smoke-free venue and our event is animal-free. Please be considerate of all our visitors joining our Open Evening and follow the directions of our event crew.
