How to apply

International Application Closing dates 

Applications for 2025 Trimester One starting programmes close Sunday 15 December 2024 for offshore International applicants.

Any applications received (online or paper-based) after this date will be considered for our next available intake. Contact International Admissions for further information. 

You may apply to Whitireia or WelTec through the online application form, paper-based form or through one of our registered recruitment agents.

Before you apply, please read the English language requirements for international students.

Download application form

Send the completed application form to international-admissions@wandw.ac.nz along with your: 

  • Passport details or birth certificate proving your identity
  • Academic transcript/s
  • English language test results (less than 2 years old)
  • Statement of purpose, telling us why you choose to study this programme and how this programme matches your future career plans
  • CV
  • Other supporting documents (if required for your programme).

Document Certification

Any documents you submit as part of your application must be certified by an acceptable certification body or official as a true copy of the original document.

They must check and date stamp every page of a document with a certifying statement.

Acceptable authorities for certifying documents are:

  • A New Zealand consular official of an embassy/high commission
  • A government/municipal official with the legal right to take official declarations
  • A notary service with the legal right to take official declarations or with an official apostille stamp
  • An officer of the court with the legal right to take official declarations
  • A justice of the peace with the legal right to take official declarations
  • A registrar (or equivalent) from the academic institution who awarded the qualification
  • A Whitireia or WelTec approved recruitment agent.

If your documents are not written in English, you will need to get your documents translated by an official translator. The translations will also need to be certified.

You must then submit certified copies of both the English translation and the translated document with your application. 

If the name on your application does not match the name on your birth certificate or passport you must also send us a certified copy of your marriage certificate or deed poll to match the name you used on your application.
