Programme outline
Develop skills that are valued in a range of social occupations; including roles as addictions practitioners or counsellors with this three-year applied programme. This programme develops graduates who can practice professionally according to the values and ethics of the Addiction Practitioners’ Association, Aotearoa-New Zealand (DAPAANZ) and the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC).

Course-related costs
This programme is delivered by blended learning (face-to-face and online learning), so you will need a computer/laptop and internet access at home. Please note your phone is not an appropriate device.

Entry requirements
Domestic
University Entrance or equivalent study/work experience; and evidence of suitability based on interview, health declaration; safety check and referee reports.
International
Academic IELTS 6.5 in each band, or equivalent.

Before you start your online application, you will need to have the following documentation available to upload when requested:
- Completed Supplementary Application Form for Health and Social Services Programmes
- Referee report*
- Verified ID
- Verified official academic transcripts
*Give the referee report to someone who is willing to be your referee. Ask them to complete the forms and either return to yourself (so you can upload with your application), or scan and email to enrolments@wandw.ac.nz within 10 days.
