Love films? If you want to write for the screen, this micro-credential is a great place to start. It provides an introduction to the craft of visual writing and the process of developing a screenplay. You’ll create your own script outline, and write a short film script – a good starting point into writing for the film industry

Flexible study options

This micro-credential is worth 10 credits, you can enrol in one micro-credential, or study multiple separately.

These micro-credentials will be taught online over a period of six weeks each. A total of 12.5 hours per week They have been developed for flexibility, so you can still work while you study.

What you will learn

This micro-credential will develop the skills for writing original scripts and to develop critiquing skills. Students will learn the foundational knowledge of how to critique and write film scripts. 

Subjects covered include:

  • construct an outline for writing a short script or a film
  • write a short script for a film
  • critique a short script for a film
