How to calculate your Grade Point Average (GPA)

Refer to Table A for the Grade Point equivalent for each grade you have received (refer A1-R1 Academic Statute, Schedule 2a). This GPA conversion scale is commonly used by universities in the United States.

Table A

Grade A+ A B+ B C+ C P D F
Grade Point 4 4 3.3 3 2.3 2 1 0 0

The grade points for each course, including not achieved (D) and ungraded fail (F), are multiplied by the number of credits for that course, added together, and divided by the total number of credits to give your cumulative GPA.

An example using three courses is shown in Table B.

Table B

Credits Grade Grade Points   Credits x Grade Points Total Points
  15 A 4 15x4 60
  45 B 3 45x3 135
  30 B+ 3.3 30x3.3 99
Total 90       Total 294

(Total Points) 294 divided by (Total Credits) 90 = (Cumulative GPA) 3.27

An example including a course that received a fail grade is shown in Table C (Highlighted as 0)
