Our range of Paramedicine and Emergency Care programmes are aimed at anyone wanting a career in ambulance services. The Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic) is delivered in partnership with Wellington Free Ambulance. The Certificate in Emergency Care is delivered in partnership with ProMed.
Gain skills to provide emergency and non-urgent medical care in a range of situations. Develop skills to assess, stabilise, treat and refer patients. Learn through clinical placements in ambulance services, hospitals and other environments.
Gain a qualification that covers the knowledge and skills required for practice as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). If you have completed the NZ Certificate in Emergency Care programme, and hold a position as a first responder, this qualification will provide you with the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required to practice in out of hospital emergencies and other community settings.
Gain a qualification that prepares you for registration as a Paramedic. If you work or volunteer for an ambulance service and hold an Authority to Practice at EMT or above, this qualification integrates the knowledge and skills necessary for practice as a paramedic.
