Maori and Pasifika Trades Training Scholarships

Government scholarships are available for Māori and Pasifika students looking to learn a trade.

We have joined forces with iwi, the Pasifika community, industry training organisations and employers right across the Wellington region. You will have every opportunity to succeed, start an apprenticeship and get into your chosen career. We'll support you with:

  • Learning support and mentoring
  • Assistance with goal setting
  • Work-readiness preparation - helping you with your CV, providing the opportunity to achieve your driver's licence, and (if you need) Site Safety certification and a First Aid certificate
Entry criteria

You have to meet certain criteria, be passionate and show that you are motivated to succeed.

You must be:

  • Of Māori or Pasifika descent
  • 16-40 at the start of your study
  • A New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Able to meet specific programme entry requirements
